Crazy about hAiR!!

Everyone keeps telling me that I need to take lots of pictures and document Jax's hair. As many of you know his hair is absolutely crazy. This picture really does not do justice to how crazy it really is. He has a huge bald spot from laying and then has hair that sticks straight out on the sides. Jax's birth mom has asked us not to cut his hair for at least a year so we are counting down the months until we can put some order to this craziness.

As crazy as his hair is, I absolutely love it!!! I really will be very sad to cut it!!

Bennett is well on his way to having crazy hair as well. He almost has a mullet in back. I was completely shocked that he came out with hair. I was certain I would have a bald baby!!

He's Here!!!

So we are happy to say that Bennett is finally here. I thought for sure on Monday (6/14 his due date) that I was going to have to blog that I was 40 weeks and depressed (my doctor had set an induction date for 6/24 10 days after my due date and I was not happy about it).

Dooms Day!!

My contractions started on Friday night and were very regular. I was keeping track of the frequency and found that for about 3 hours they were about 6 minutes apart. We thought for sure we would be going to the hospital that night. After the 3 hours they continued but the time between started to space. I couldn't bare the idea of going to the hospital and being sent home so we stuck it out.

Finally after laboring Friday night and all day Saturday we decided to go to the hospital early Sunday morning. We got there at about 1:30. After evaluating me the found that I was 5 cm and was contracting every 2-3 minutes. They decided to keep me. Finally after waiting what seemed like forever I got my epidural at 4:30. I was finally able to go to sleep after being up for over 48 hours. They then checked me at 8:30 where they found that I was now 8 cm. We got excited and nervous as we thought about having the baby soon. They set up the delivery table then which made me even more nervous and anxious. They then broke my water.
Much to our disappointment my body would not continue progressing and I was stuck at 8 cm until around 11:45. I had finally reached a 10. After 20-30 minutes of pushing he decided to make his presence.

Finally Here!!!

He weighed 6 lbs 12 oz. and is 20 inches long. He is so tiny but surprisingly longer than we thought. He has tons of brown hair (which was a surprise for both of us!!)

Just following delivery, we were both so relieved that he was healthy and that the delivery went well. We were also both so exhausted and tired!!

Bath Time!!

Bennett loved his bath and was surprisingly calm through most of it!!

Proud DADDY!!!

Our Family!!
Jax loves his little brother and always wants to touch his face!

Jax looked so proud. Little does he know he now has to share his mom, dad, puppies and toys. Poor kid has something coming to him.

Jax giving his brother and mommy a hug!! Gary and I had such a hard time being away from Jax. Luckily I have a wonderful sister that brought him to the hospital each day so we could see him. We are so excited to have 2 super cute boys!! We love them both so much!!

Look at how BIG and how little!!
Jax definitely makes Bennett look super tiny and Bennett makes Jax look huge. This is their cute little and huge feet!!

Our handsome little man!!!

Discharge Day!!!
We were definitely ready to go home. We loved Riverton IHC hospital but after 2 days of being cooped up in a room it was time to go home!!

Dressed and ready to go!!

I thought this picture of my boys was so cute. Can I say I think I am a little out numbered!

We are so excited to welcome this new little guy to our family!! We finally think we are ready for the challenges and happiness of having him in our home! We are so grateful for him and so grateful that he is a healthy baby. We couldn't have asked for a better pregnancy and delivery!!

Random Stuff

I just wanted to update what is going on in the life of the Lowry's. As you can see not a heck of a lot. We are now currently waiting for baby #2 to make his appearance. I have now passed the 38 week mark, so I guess we will see. Here are some random pictures...

We finally got a double stroller for our 2 little babies. Gary thought Jax would love to sit in the stroller box. As you can see, Jax had a different thought and did not enjoy this idea!!

Jax loves his Daddy!!! He still loves to cuddle (although it has to be on his timing only!!).

Jax loves his baby brother already!! Really the poor little guy has no clue what is coming to him. So for now we are just hoping and praying that the transition will go as smooth as possible. I do think Jax is going to miss this big tummy of mine that he has claimed as his new pillow. He has become very fond of it. I can tell you, I am ready for the tummy to be gone!!
Well that is it for now!!

Our Family is Forever!!!

We were finally able to have Jax sealed in the temple. I know 7 and a half months doesn't seem like long, but I feel like we were waiting for this day for forever. We had Jax sealed to us in the Jordan River Temple on April 24. It was honestly one of the most amazing days that I have had so far. Jax was so good and cooperated so well. It was such a neat experience, Jax just looked at the sealer with his big brown eyes and focused on him. It was almost as if he knew what was happening. It was a very emotional experience. It is nice to know that he is now part of our family for forever!!!

Our Forever Family!!!

I loved this picture of him. Jax loves being the center of attention and just soaked it all in.

Our family who came to the sealing. We are so grateful to have such supportive families. I love our families so much. It is such a nice feeling to know that Jax will have all of these people and many more to support him and be such great examples for him. He is truly one loved baby!!!

Our handsome little man. I was so excited to find a tie that fit him. He looked so cute! He liked the tie as well and thought it made quite a fun toy to suck on.
I am so grateful that we have the opportunity to be the parents of this special baby. He honestly lights up my life and I can't imagine life without him. I am forever amazed at the love and joy he has brought into our home. I am so grateful that I have been given the opportunity to be his mom. I am also so grateful that we have the opportunity to be a forever family!!!

Swimming

We took Jax swimming for the first time. We went to the South Jordan indoor pool. He actually did very well and seemed to like it quite a bit. He loved kicking his legs and splashing with his hands. After about 45 minutes he decided he was cold so I got him out and wrapped him in his towel. Gary stayed in the pool, after a few minutes of drying Jax saw his dad and decided he wanted to go back in. I think we had a successful trip and will definitely go back soon.

Jax was very fascinated with the water. After a bit I think it became a little overwhelming to him. He loved watching all of the people at the pool as well.

They had these little baby bouncer swings, Jax loved them!!

He is Official

We went to court on Monday, April 12 to finalize Jax's adoption. Jax is now officially a Lowry! It was such a cool day. I have never been to court so it was quite the experience. Let's just say I am a big cry baby and was very emotional through the whole thing (let's just blame it on the extra hormones running through my blood). It is so nice to know that he is now ours. As cool as this day was I am even more excited to take him to the temple. Less than 2 weeks and then he is ours forever.

This is a picture from the back of the courtroom. It was surprisingly very official, it was a little strange to be sworn in and I found myself giggling a bit. Our lawyer luckily was very lighthearted and kept making jokes. He made sure to point out that he is ours through all of lifes trials including Jax turning 16.

Judge Toomey. I am not going to lie she was definitely a little intimidating although very nice.

Our family following the trial. Yes my face is red from crying.

Our family that came.

We feel very lucky to be able to be Jax's parents. We love this kid more than we ever imagined we could. He has become such an important and vital part of our lives. We are so grateful for adoption and for the chance this has given us to be his parents. We love you Jax!!!

Easter

Here are some pictures of our Easter festivities...

Jax enjoyed holding/eating/sucking on the eggs.
Gary showing his pretty green egg,
Me showing off all of our eggs.
Jax playing with the finished product. You can see my hands ready to catch it.

Jax showing off our pretty eggs. He did pretty well and cooperated most of the time.

Jax has started pulling this funny face and giving attitude. This is him not cooperating quite as well.

Jax hugging his new stuffed puppy from his Easter basket. He loves stuffed animals and loves cuddling with them.

The thing Jax loved best in his basket... the grass.
It was so fun having a Jax to share Easter with. I am so excited for next year when he shows even more interest in the festivities.

My Pretty Princess

This is my beautiful little girl!!! I went to go pick up Jaxton from my sister's house and there was a pretty white headband on her table. I put it on Jax, when my cute little neice Lily decided he needed a flower with it. Well this is what we came up with.

Hopefully I did not ruin him for life! I must say though he makes one dang cute little girl!!
